Comfort Food Community

The mission of Comfort Food Community is to contribute to the health of our community through the inspirational power of good food. Services include two emergency food relief pantries in Greenwich and Cossayuna, the YES Backpack program, Fresh Food Collective, Farm to Library program and Food and Farm Hub. Comfort Food Community’s community health work includes resource navigation, health coaching, education, and peer support services.

CFC provides services across Washington, Warren, and Saratoga counties. The community health team operates produce prescription programs at the Glens Falls Farmers Market and a health-based Fresh Food Farmacy with Hudson Headwaters Health Network. Additionally, they work with partners across the region to direct guests and clients to the resources that they need.

  • Emergency Food and Pantry Services
CFC’s Food Pantry distributes emergency food and supplies to guests located in Greenwich School District, Cossayuna Fire District, and south Argyle.
Guests can receive non-perishable goods, fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms, dairy and meat options, and personal hygiene products. Guests may attend one of our locations once per week and either location.
  • Community Health Services CFC assists guests in locating community resources such as health insurance navigators, financial assistance, child care services, medical care, etc. We conduct cooking demonstrations, offer food samples, provide assistance in understanding nutritional needs for chronic illnesses, and lifestyle coaching. There are monthly community health events, education opportunities, and a peer support group for chronic conditions.
